Eldot Makes Personal Appearance March 9 at Tucson Festival of Books

In cooperation with Xlibris Publishing, Diphra Enterprises is pleased to present Eldot in person for the first time. He will meet the public and sign complimentary copies of Barr’s Meadow, the first book in the Julian’s Private Scrapbook series.

“… how in the **** can you maintain anonymity at a book signing… wear pince-nez and a crêpe mustache?” one colleague asked. What Eldot will wear and whether he will reveal the name behind the pen name will be known only to those who pick up their signed copy at the Festival.

“Anonymity is not my goal,” says the author. “My hope is to deflect unexpected questions from hitting family and friends; the pioneering and controversial coming of age series of books could be upsetting to some.”

Eldot will be signing at Author Solutions booths 201-6 on Sunday, March 9 between 2 and 3 p.m.

The Tucson Festival of Books is March 7-9 on the University of Arizona campus in Tucson, Ariz. A literary oasis for book lovers and authors alike, the annual event welcomes authors representing a wide variety of genres including fiction, nonfiction, children’s fiction, cooking, and poetry. More than 100,000 readers are expected to browse through 522 exhibit booths.

For such a large event, the location is relatively compact; it’s on the Mall along East University Boulevard, stretching from the Old Main area to just east of Cherry Avenue, and to a few nearby buildings.

The University will be on spring break, so Festival participants and spectators won’t be competing with students for parking. Public parking is available free in the University’s surface lots and in six garages: Cherry Avenue, Highland Avenue, Main Gate, Park Avenue, Sixth Street and Tyndall Avenue. (The Second Street Parking Garage is reserved.)

Free public wi-fi is available on the campus, along with a full food court and varied snack vendors.

This quality is the difference between a cashier and a salesperson. “Many guys come to me and ask how I can charge $ 100 or more an hour for my personal training,” Sam Bakhtiar remarks. “And I always tell them, I’m not doing anything different than anybody else. The only difference between you and me is that I believe I’m worth it.”

First and foremost, a trainer must have confidence in the product. Sam looks at a trainer’s program offerings and assesses the value. From there, he can provide feedback on how to make improvements to the core business to make a product that sells like hotcakes.

The second component to successful personal trainer marketing, he says, is rapport. “Nothing is worse than a robot repeating generic sales scripts,” Sam says. He does provide scripts in his personal trainer mentorship program materials, but there is room for improvisation and being an all-around genuine person. “Asking questions is the best thing you can do to further your sales goals. You want to know which football teams your clients like, what hobbies and passions they possess, how old their kids are,” Sam explains. Finding common ground and currying a client’s favor will reel in a lifetime member.

Lastly, personal trainer marketing takes time. “Spend as much time as you need with a prospect and treat everyone like your best client – even if you don’t think he or she will buy,” Sam says. “This business is all about building relationships – past, present and future relationships.” He adds that making a good impression can lead to referrals to friends and family later down the road or future sign-ups.
