The HOME Foundation Proudly Supported The Guard A Heart Foundation at Their Film Noir Black and White Ball

Film Noir Black & White Ball To Support the Guard A Heart Foundation

Laguna Beach, CA (PRWEB) October 30, 2012

Through many events this year Guard a Heart has raised awareness for heart disease and empowered individuals to consult their physician and learn more about their heart risk. With knowledge comes power to make critical lifestyle modifications that inspire life. Frankie Verdugo, President of the HOME Foundation says, “The Black and White Ball was a great event and brought a lot of people together to raise awareness for the prevention of heart disease and have fun while doing it.”

This exclusive event, Film Noir, was celebrated as “The Golden Age of Hollywood Glam”, a unique Black & White ball, guests wore either black, white or a combination of black and white. Founders Rose Hancock and Estrella Harrington graced the red carpet in black ball gowns. “A lot of people are afraid to know the risks but we want to create awareness. It’s not a death sentence; 80 percent of heart disease is preventable,” Harrington said. There were at least two doctors in the house, Estrella’s husband Douglas S. Harrington, CEO of the group, and Bahar Sederati, its scientific spokesperson.

This formal gala was packed full of exciting entertainment– with a live BIG band, Vegas showgirls, casino-style gaming tables (poker, black jack, craps and roulette), Cirque du Soleil-style performers and special look-a-like appearances by Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth and the ever so elegant Audrey Hepburn. The event also had raffle prizes, highest-chips prizes, an amazing silent auction, and a winning prize of a walk-on role in a major motion picture by the producer of “Casino”. There was also a modern yet edgy fashion show by local designer Katharine Story.
