A Cajun who takes great pride in his family’s long history in Pierre Parte, Louisiana, Troy Landry has hunted alligators to support his family for 30 years, earning the Bayou reputation as “King of the Swamp.”

But it’s the “Swamp People” TV show on A&E’s History (formerly known as The History Channel) that has made him famous to the outside world, where he’ll make a rare appearance at Seminole Casino Hollywood on Thursday, April 26 during a free public meet-and-greet that will culminate a creative promotion aptly named, “Choot em’ and Win.”

Every half hour on Saturdays in April from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m., the luckiest casino players will draw to play the virtual “Choot em’ and Win” game at the end of the evening for up to $ 10,000 in cash. Landry will visit Seminole Casino Hollywood on the last Thursday from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. to meet, sign autographs and take photos with fans. The casino will give away a total of $ 40,000 in cash during the four-week “Choot em’ and Win” game promotion.

The virtual game players either hook their alligator prey to win cash or free play or get eaten, not unlike the TV show which profiles Louisiana hunters in their annual pursuit of alligators in a month-long season, frantically trying to “fill their tags” of the largest gators they can find.

“Our guests will win a pile of money in April but they won’t have to risk their limbs or their lives like Troy does to get it,” quipped Seminole Casino Hollywood director of marketing, Michael J. Broderick.

This season, the “King of the Swamp” is teaming with master hunter, Junior Edwards and his sons in running two boats to get the job done. Meanwhile, in Myrtle Grove, Joe LaFont and his stepson Tommy are back on the water. With more tags than ever this season, they’re on track to make big bucks until Joe sustains a potentially season-ending injury. In Bayou Pigeon, newcomers Austyn and Blake are trying to earn their way into the alligator business a few tags at a time. With five tags in hand, they set out to prove to their buyer that they are the next generation of swamp legends.

“We’re creating entertainment to go along with our usual great casino action and it’s attracting new players to our 32-year-old casino,” explained general manager, Adrian Fox.
